In honor of CNA’s 40th anniversary, a special history walking tour was created for the Creston neighborhood! The inaugural tour took place on Saturday, August 24th, 2019. Nearly 100 residents spent their sunny Saturday morning together walking 1.5 miles through the Creston neighborhood! The 2-hour tour, led by former CNA board member and Head of History & Special Collections at the Grand Rapids Public Library, Julie Tabberer, highlighted several iconic landmarks in the neighborhood.

The free event was sponsored by Peterson Plumbing, Grand Rapids Public Schools, and Bloom Credit Union. The history research for this project was funded in part by Michigan Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, and made possible in partnership with Calvin University.
