Land Use Committee

The Land Use Committee of the CNA is a board of residents that provide neighborhood feedback on development projects in Creston.

Types of items we review:

  • Special land use requests
  • Zoning changes/variances
  • Liquor license applications or changes
  • Major development projects

What we’re looking for:

  • Alignment with neighborhood character
  • Inclusion and emphasis on car-alternative traffic solutions
  • Community benefit
  • Accordance with the Creston Area Specific Plan

How the Process Works:

  • Initial contact through the committee chair: alex@crestongr.com
  • Please provide project information in your email.
  • Meetings are the first Wednesday of every month. A two week notice is required to present to the committee.
  • Presentations are no more than 10 minutes, with an 10 minute Q&A period.
  • Following your presentation and Q&A, the committee will ask you to leave while they discuss the request privately. You will be informed the following day of their decision.
  • Letters of support will then be drafted and provided to the full board for signature. Those meetings are the fourth Thursday of the month.
  • Once signed, the letters of support will be provided to you and the planning commission or other appropriate body.
