CNA has four open seats for Board of Directors this year. One of our candidates, Angela Backstrom, seeks a seat for the first time. Three candidates, Tiffany Fifer, Ric Maycroft and Aaron Rivera seek reelection.
Angela Backstrom:
Q: What key assets would you bring to the CNA board?
A: I am passionate about neighbors knowing each other! So many problems could be solved if neighbors just go and talk to each other and help each other! I am a very organized person. I enjoying making lists and then accomplishing them. I also enjoy throwing parties and introducing different groups of people to each other.
Q: What Creston issues are the most compelling to you?Â
- People being aware of the CNA and getting connected to it.
- Neighbors knowing their neighbors and finding tangible ways to help our neighbors in need.
Q: What positive changes would you like to see CNA bring to the Creston neighborhood?
A:Â Being a bridge between local government and residents. Being an excellent resource that neighbors can tap into when they need something.

Tiffany Fifer

A:Â Dedication to the neighborhood and CNA’s new strategic plan,

- Development in the neighborhood
- Public safety
Q:Â What positive changes would you like to see CNA bring to the Creston neighborhood?
A: More involvement of neighbors, town hall style meetings for information and neighborhood input, signage throughout neighborhood (ex: yard signs), increase neighbors’ involvement at city level.
Tiffany is an attorney. She has lived in Creston for the last 7 years, and has been on CNA’s board for the last 6 years.
Ric Maycroft
Q:Â What assets would you bring to the board?
A:Â Commitment to the neighbors and neighborhood. Honesty and integrity.
Q: What Creston issues are the most compelling to you?Â
- Living green issues like recycling, composting, shopping
- Interaction with local government.
Q: What positive changes would you like to see CNA bring to the Creston neighborhood?
A:Â I would like to see CNA facilitate more communication between neighbors of sorts and stripes and distances.
Ric works at Dematic, Corp. He has lived in Creston for 20 years, and he has been involved with CNA through the Living Green in Creston committee and the Board of Directors.
Aaron Rivera
Q: What key assets would you bring to the CNA board?
A:Â My analytical and problem solving skills will be an asset to the CNA board. I make strong and fact-based decisions while mindful of the mission of the CNA. Most importantly, I am a collaborator that welcomes a diverse range of opinions to help implement the mission and goals of the CNA.

- Providing members with the appropriate resources to help them with their specific need
- Development
- Public Safety
Q:Â What positive changes would you like to see CNA bring to the Creston neighborhood?
A:Â Committees run by CNA members to implement the strategic plan. Position the CNA to be proactive versus reactive to any pertinent issues that affect the neighborhood.
Aaron is a lawyer with Rivera Law. He has lived in Creston for 7 years and has served on the CNA board of directors for 2 years.
