Single Family Renters are One Step Closer to Assured Quality Housing

Changes to Grand Rapids’ housing ordinance took a big first step this past week.  The city commission passed a resolution to address the vacant property registration and single family rental registration and certification recommendations given to them last December.  Passing the resolution allows city staff to look into implementation and associated costs, while keeping the program on track for a possible July 1st implementation date.  Creston residents have shown a lot of support in facilitating these changes by writing letters and sending emails.  A big thank you to Barbara Williams and CNA Board member Diana Fisher, who took the time to speak at the city commission meetings, voicing their concerns and showing their support for the proposed ordinance changes.

The Grand Rapids Press covered the story, which can be viewed here.

If you would like to show your support for the proposed changes or want more information, please get in touch with CNA!
